20080704 – Gay Pride

This year’s Amsterdam Gay Pride looked like it wasn’t going to be such a fantastic event for me. Moulsari and I weren’t invited to any parties, her co-worker who was our ticket into another party had a fight with his boyfriend and couldn’t make it, and on top of all of that Moulsari wasn’t feeling so fantastic. We ended up watching the canal parade, in which the canals are full with boats, some of them very elaborately decorated, with proud homosexuals dancing away to pumping beats in front of a crowd of onlookers and well-wishers. We ended up not having a bad time after all, as we found a spot, looked on for a couple of hours, and chatted a bit. People watching can be very entertaining, especially if the people you are watching know you are, and are trying their hardest to entertain you. Mouls is taking a nap on the sofa while I write this, and I’ll be waking her up in a few minutes to have some food, perhaps she’ll feel a little better and will be up for checking out the party at the homo-monument at the Westermarkt. Sam and I ended up there last year, and that ended up being the best music I had heard that year, and the second best thing to happen that day.
