Behold!
When the head doesn’t know…
…what the tail is doing, you get situations like the one I was confronted with just now. Public transport between Hoorn and Amsterdam was chaos due to two incidents, one at Zaandam, which is between Hoorn and Amsterdam, and one between Amsterdam and Alkmaar. People from Hoorn on their way to Amsterdam had to travel via Alkmaar, and people going from Alkmaar to Amsterdam were advised to travel via Hoorn. Utter stupidity.
