Global Underground – Afterhours 3

I just noticed that Afterhours 3 is out, and I’m very excited. The first album was mindblowing – dark, intense and made for a gimp like me. When the second album came, it was a bit of a surprise, since the initial Afterhours was always supposed to be a one-shot experimental publication, and was never meant to become big, which is why it was only released in a limited run. The second album got a little getting used to, since the sound had changed just a little bit and it felt less atmospheric. However, within a few days of listening to it, it had completely grown on me like a bad rash. Especially the track Collusion by Psycorps and I Need Something Stronger by UNKLE were fantastic.

I can’t wait for the third one to come in. :)

Listening to the album right now (I found a promotional copy), and it’s kind of weird. The first CD is entirely organic dance. So far kind of boring. The second CD is more electronic, and more in line of what I would expect considering the two previous Afterhours publications. The third CD I haven’t heard yet. So far, not so impressed.
