This weekend had its ups and downs. Let’s list them, shall we?
Up: Transformers!
Down: Only Dennis and Mouls seemed to enjoy the place we went to afterwards for drinks. My brother seemed, as always, cool with whatever, but he has my kind of level of enthusiasm, so it was hard to say whether or not he liked it.
Up: Found some DVD storage units. No longer is my desk a mess!
Down: I had to go to fucking Ikea to go and find them. I hate Ikea, but I had promised Moulsari not to be negative about it while going there, while there, and while on the way back. What a soulless, corrupting void that place is.
Up: 24″ widescreen. Nuff said.
Down: Ended up not gaming. Richard wasn’t there. Frank wasn’t there. Dennis could only be there later, and I couldn’t find the energy to write down the stuff that I needed to in order for the game to run smoothly. Hopefully everyone can be there next sunday, and I can find some time to prepare, because if I do, the next part is going to be fucking awesome!
Up: Got some sleep.
Down: I got angry at this BBC article on “Stuff Lust”.

Gaming: If I came along next weekend, would you guys be willing to play in a bit more English? I’m kind of interested in the next part, too. :)
I can bribe you all with home-cooked food, maybe…
And, I notice your DVDs MORE now than I did before. Go figure.
Angry at the article or angry at the people that fall for the gadget lust?
Mostly I got angry at the fact that “Stuff Lust” is apparently so widespread that it deserves its own name. :)
A tag to be placed on a phenomonon that has already grown to such an extent that it is an industry in itself…..look at most of the swag you can get at Thinkgeek for example. None of it actually has any practical use (besides the coffe mugs :) ) yet it sells. And these are still simple things…
A bit in the category of the term “Food Envy”… it’s when you want to eat something just because you see someone else eating it. :)
Never had trouble with that….Food Envy you call it? Never heard of it either.
I have “Sleep Envy,” though. Even when I’m sitting in a theatre, and someone in the film just fell to the floor stone-cold dead, I always think; “Man, that looks comfy…” But I never really end up sleeping in. :/
