Holy shit, they’re doing a two-part, live-action remake of the magnificent Akira (1988), aptly named Akira (2009). I’m keeping my eye on this one. :)

Really? You know I’ve never actually read or seen the original versions yet, and everyone always seems to rave about it so I’ll probably have to go and see whether they have a copy at the library some time.
Oh, you should definitely pick it up, if only to have seen it once. It’s great, and it’s fantastic quality, despite it being from 1988. It’s even now amazing.

Heard they were going to make a live action movie out of it. I hope they’ll be able to properly translate it…
