.: Gaming
Gaming is going rather well. Sadly, not everyone has been able to attend since we started, but hopefully that’ll change coming weekend. I’m getting back into the swing of things and I’m taking what I learnt during my last D&D campaign to this SR campaign and so far it’s working. I’m also forcing myself to take a bit more time and offer the right amount of flavour without getting bogged down. I need to play up the paranoia better, though, especially since nearly all of them have decided to retain their SIN. Point of improvement there. Mental note: write a synopsis for Dennis and Eva.
.: Headache
I had to tell my co-workers about my headache attacks today, in order for them to be prepared in case I have one at work. It’s interesting, some people just can’t wrap their head around it, they kind of joke around with it even though I’m as serious as cancer. I can’t blame them, but I wish I could.
.: Development
Some things I want to concentrate on; .NET, Flash, Ajax. In that order. God, I wish I could force myself to find a good way to learn Flash, that’d be sweet. If you go back through my journal entries I think you will find that I’ve said that many times before in the past, and my lack of initiative on this front is really bugging the shit out of me, but whenever I start I’m so turned off by the tutorials. I want to program shit in flash, not make the butterfly move around the screen! I don’t care about the butterfly, fuck the butterfly.
Saw a trailer for Max Payne yesterday and it was AWESOME. Oh, also the one for Babylon A.D. and it looked good and a bit retarded at the same time… I have some doubts about it.
Went to see Babylon A.D. in the cinema last weekend and was dissapointed in the end result, it feels like a rush job with too much holes in the story to be pleasing.
You already started with SR?? I need to finish my character pronto (mental note on my side)
Yeah, we started with SR several weeks ago. Sadly, though, the first session was half a session because we still needed to do a little character building. Then we couldn’t play for two weeks straight, and now we’ve played twice, but Eva couldn’t be there. Next sunday we’ll have a proper session, with everyone in attendance.
Who’s in the gaming group besides Eva? Richard and Robin? Mark?Frank?
Eva, Richard, Robin and Mark. Frank is too busy with domestic stuff to join in, and will probably only be available by the time you come back, too.
I got the same problem with Flash. I hate those damn tutorials. :D
That’s a good group…I miss my sunday afternoon at the roleplay table…I can’t wait untill I get back :)
I like the group aswell. ;)
Babylon A.D. is a bit hit and miss. It’s fine as a switch your brain off at the door blow shit up film but as Glorfindel says it could have been a lot better.
Reading a couple interviews the director, Mathieu Kassovitz, is supposedly rather pissed off about how it turned out since he apparently got screwed by the producers and his partners. The book the film is based off of and the film he’d been trying to make for the past five years is apparently a bit more deep/focused on things like geopolitics and how the world is going to evolve and what he got in the end was “pure violence and stupidity” according to him.
And no love for Bangkok Dangerous?
Bangkok Dangerous looks really stupid, to be honest. Oh, and use the [ url ][ /url ] option next time. :)
Hold on, you’ve got Babylon A.D. on the list and you’re saying that Bangkok Dangerous looks silly? :)
It looks sillier than Babylon A.D., yes. See, you have the advantage on me having seen one or both films. After Con Air I just can’t take a long haired Cage seriously anymore.
I liked Con air.. :(
I loved Con Air. I liked Bangkok Dangerous only because of it being filmed in Thailand and nice memories assaulting me time and over again. It’s an okay action movie, I guess, if you like 80s action style (lots of shooting and things blowing up). But if you would like an action movie with some decent storyline to it and the last scene that makes sense – that’s not a movie you should see.
Shooting and stuff blowing up is ’80s? ‘Cause I don’t remember a film where something doesn’t explode man. Even the new comedy, “you don’t mess with the Zohan” which should be on that listen, has an explosion in it.
Oh, I forgot RockNRolla!
In which “Guy Ritchie returns to diamond form” or so I read on every bus I saw in Edinburgh this weekend.
