| Onitsuka Tiger Mexiko 66 black/white These are my new Onitsuka Tigers, which I bought this Saturday. I really like them, and I’m slowly but surely maturing towards a lighter, more delicate sneaker than the ones I had before – ones that were all just different variations and imitations of the Adidas Classic anyway, with the possible exception of Mizuno’s Sala Libre. The Tigers were made popular with Bruce Lee’s Game of Death and later in Tarantino’s Kill Bill, and now by me! |

I like ’em, but at first glance yesterday I thought they were Asics sneakers.
Well, that’s because they are! Onitsuka is the last name of the founder of Asics.
Or rather, Onitsuka merged with another company to become Asics, but they continued producing shoes under the Onitsuka label as well.
Glad I’m not the only one that had no idea about Asics having other brand names. Either way, like the shoes!
